FEATURED ARTICLE:
RISK MANAGERS READY FOR CHANGE

Survey by Towers Watson

No More!Last month, Towers Watson surveyed approximately 250 risk and finance professionals to learn more about some of the major challenges and topics they face on a day-to-day basis. The survey provides a snapshot of how risk and finance managers are managing diverse issues such as retained claims, predictive modeling and enterprise risk management.
A few of the highlights from the study:
  • As companies retain more and more of their risk exposures, risk and finance managers are looking for help from their risk management consultants and insurance brokers.
  • Most risk managers tolerate or are resigned to contingent commissions paid by insurers to insurance brokers. Opposition to the sometimes controversial commissions comes mostly from larger companies.
  • Despite its demonstrated ability to reduce the cost of risk, ERM is generally still not getting management support.
